Garden Park Nursing & Rehabilitation Center first in LA, one of three in US to win national award

For the first time, a Louisiana nursing and rehab center has won a national award given by the American Health Care Association and the National Center for Assisted Living.

It is a prestigious twofer for Garden Park Nursing & Rehabilitation Center at 9111 Linwood Drive in Shreveport. Not only is the facility one of only three facilities in the U.S. in 2025 to win the Gold — Excellence in Quality Award, it is the only such winner ever honored in Louisiana.

Garden Park is a 160-bed skilled nursing facility that provides short-term care with rehabilitation services as well as long-term care. The three-level program compares each facility’s long-term care capabilities against nationally recognized standards for excellence. Each level, beginning at bronze and ending with gold, requires additional demonstration of superior performance in leadership, strategic planning, and customer and staff satisfaction.

According to the AHCA/NCAL, winners in the gold level are considered the “best of the best in the profession.”

“The hardworking staff at Garden Park Nursing & Rehabilitation Center have achieved one of the most prestigious honors in our profession,” said Louisiana Nursing Home Association Executive Director Mark Berger.

Jennifer Peters, Garden Park’s administrator, said, “To be one of only three facilities nationwide to earn the 2025 Gold award is an incredible honor and a testament to our team’s unwavering commitment to quality, safety and service.”

Five Louisiana facilities were honored with a silver award including the Cypress Point Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, LLC in Bossier City and the Winnfield Nursing & Rehab Center LLC in Winnfield.

Two area facilities were awarded a bronze: Harmony House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center Inc., and Southern Oaks Nursing & Rehabilitation Center LLC, both in Shreveport.
